Screen Drafts (Home Version) Random Stats

A Hall of Fame Film is one that has been picked more than once. No film has been picked 3 times, yet. The first Hall of Fame entry was John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness (1987). It was selected in game 4 (the Satan draft) and game 5 (the John Carpenter draft).  The biggest leap for a Hall of Fame Film is from game 2 (the found footage draft) to game 17 (the science of scares draft) and that happened with The Blair Witch Project (1999). The film to rank best when played in both games was Wes Craven's My Soul to Take (2010) which ranked 5th in the Wes Craven draft and first in the school horror draft. Below are the hall of fame films.

Random facts from these games:

The most represented decade is the 1990's (at lot of that is because we played Raimi, Craven and Carpenter filmography drafts along with film series like Friday the 13th, The Crow and Hellraiser). However, the most impressive decade is the 1930's because only 3 drafts feature 30's films but a 1930's film ends up at number one on each of those drafts: The Jekyll and Hyde draft, The Frankenstein draft and the best horror movies draft.

The year 2000 is the most represented year with more than a dozen films played from that year.

Horror is not all we do. Topics like Satan films or found footage allow for comedy. 9  comedies were played including

and

One Biblical drama has been played so far, The Greatest Story Ever Told, which at 260 minutes is the longest film drafted so far. Icarus Montgolfier Wright  (1962) 16 mins drafted in the Bradbury/Bloch draft was the shortest film ever drafted.

Hail Satan (2019) is so far the only documentary played in our games.

A whole season one of a television series was played in our 9th game.

15 Subtitled films have been drafted including 5 in the folk horror draft including the very recent

1960's hold an interesting record. The Bradbury/Bloch draft has 10 1960's films, by far the most a decade has represented a list.

The first straight to video film to show up, showed up on game 13, school related horror

Since then we have had Crow sequels and Hellraiser sequels that fit that prompt.

We have also twice allowed books to be eligible.

The first one was by the great Wes Craven while the other was a short story collection that included the work of Ray Bradbury and Robert Bloch. More books may be played one day. My next game almost included a video game!

This page is random but will include more facts as we continue to play.
